Part of the joy of HOME, comes in on 4 PAWS. In this case 4-Paws went out and brought a little girl named Rosalind, great joy. As many of you know, Tammy takes our dogs out into different settings like hospitals, evacuations sites, and convalescent homes. To keep them in tip top shape, she also takes them on outings around town for maintaining their exposure and training. In the picture featured here, Tammy and Cotton were at a coffee shop, when a little 6 year old with bright red hair looked longingly at Cotton. Tammy invited her to pet Cotton. “Dogs are amazing at reading people’s emotions and knowing what they need”, Tammy says. “In this case, Cotton laid down on her side and allowed Rosalind to lay on her and hug her tightly. Cotton didn’t move a muscle.” The next day the father was at the same coffee shop, but Tammy was not. From help he found in the coffee shop, he was able to make connection with Tammy via text and wanted her to know how much that time his daughter had with Cotton had impacted her. He also wanted to share a picture that his daughter had drawn of her and Cotton. “I am always amazed, by the intuitiveness of the dogs, and the way they touch peoples’ hearts. They bless others, and I feel so privileged to be on the other end of the leash being blessed by their blessing”, says Tammy.
